All that is left is the two ipod random mixes that I'm not in any hurry to post since I didn't actually spin. They really helped since I sometimes needed to be in two places at once.
I'll get them up in a few days.
I still can't believe how much music I played over that week ;)

Here is the setlist for the mix I did for Sunday's human drumming class. It's going to become my next tribal mix up on www.getdjpet.com

Trolling though my music looking for every tune with sex in the title got me a lot of stuff to spin. It was a blast of a set that may have gotten me a couple of more custom mix CD gigs.

This was a really fun one to spin for. Everyone got dressed up in their flapper best and cut a rug over at sex-o-rama. Outside was the bar that was left over from Lucky's the night before.

Every year it seems that classic rock with some other tunes tossed in works the best for the vending and snowcones.

I always look forward to this gig. I live spin for an ad-hoc strip club that is installed into the back of the dining hall. This one went from midnight to 5:30am. The flow was a lot better than last year since we had two poles and one cage to rotate the dancers through.
I brought out a pair of my subwoofers esp for this one as well as every light that I own. I even managed to bring my 20" wide disco ball. I had it in my pass side seat on the drive down and every time the sun came out I lit up the freeway with some crazy disco action! I also made a color gobo for my gobo projector and had it in the lobby slowly spinning. It was a hit to say the least.

Since I was triple booked on Friday for doing sound I premixed the early events. I must have missed the change from mixer to playparty and did the set for a stand around mixer like we have been having at DO Summer camp for as long as I can remember. I would have done a _very_ different mix if I would have known ;)

I also recorded a 5 hour session with a lot more house instead of industrial.

In order to get some more play in and not as much booth time I recorded a live 5 hour set to bring with. This one was played at both the main playspace as well as the barn. I can't remember which night it was ;)

Friday I was able to spin the pool party live right from the end of the breakfest set (made up for the previous day's cop out ;) I started with a previous pool set and took it over to house-land. After hearing about MJ I put on some tracks for him. If only I had a Billy May's mix to use as well.

Or I should say 80's Lesbian strap-on pajama party ;) I get the best gigs! I was told make it sound like a John Hughes movie but with more, er toys *g*

LR started off with a pool side mixer and play auction. I spun a lot of Indian/MiddleEastern remixes, Jazz remixes and some deep tracks.

Camp went really well this year. The weather was practically perfect and I was able to balance my working from 9am to 5am every day with catching up with old friends and making, ahem, new ones ;) I managed to pick up two music clients (one a ringtone edit and the other a custom 80 minute music mix) and also live spin for a lovely collaring ceremony while I was there.
I'll be posting setlists pretty soon (under a cut for a few days to save your read filter)
Any exploits will be under cuts to protect the innocents (not that there are any hear mind you...)

I'm starting concept phase on a card for a cancer fundraiser whose inspiration is a violinist in a metal band that recently kicked cancer.

I'm really liking where it's going. I know that I need to work on fonts, especially the Hope Eternal one. The flaming treble clef is a little busy, I like something there flaming I just need to find the right image to put there.
I need to get the lineup as well as additional ad copy and I can make the back of it.
I seem to be doing a lot of cancer charity gigs this year, you all should come out to Darq this Saturday in Salem for the North Shore Medical Center Cancer fundraiser. We have a whole lot of amazing local DJ talent and I'm bringing out a lot of my gear to make it all sound amazing. Everything we bring in for the night is getting donated.

Just DJed a highschool grad party. I needed to play tunes for the people paying for it (re: parents) at the beginning and then transition over to the "greatest hits" of today. I think that I have about a dozen earworms all playing in my head at the same time. I just realized that I haven't posted a setlist here for quite some time. I need to go and get them all up.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I brought out my camera to take a quick couple of shots while I was taking breaks from the sound booth. There was an official photographer but here are a few candids to tide you over. You can see all of the pics as well as others from my other gigs over at http://www.flickr.com/acuriousproductio n
My subwoofahs are better than yahs!
I finally finished the folded horn subwoofer build and they actually brought the house down at the Electrocution II Festival last Sat. During one of
znuh's sets he brought the bass and I sent it right back causing the ceiling tile above
post_future to disintegrate and rain down on her, sorry about that :)
Not bad for a 4x10" sub running at 600W. I'll put them up against any pair of 18"s anyday. I'll be posting some pictures of the build pretty soon.
I'll post more about EF-II pretty soon (including pictures)

Dear friends,
Suzuki is not doing well. She has been in critical care at Angell (for those that don't live in the area, it is absolutely the best local animal hospital) for the past 24 hours and her condition has continued to deteriorate. We have made the decision to put her to sleep - we don't want her to suffer.
What is a comfort is knowing that she had some wonderful years with us. When she first came to us, we called her the ghost cat - she was afraid of everything - but with love she blossomed into a true princess. She got to experience life as the boss of the household, and everyone that met her loved her like crazy. She has been a really happy, pampered, and beloved cat, and she even got to be plump. We will never forget her.
We hope that you will continue to keep us in your hearts and minds while we make this transition.

not bad, not bad :) That is a 30% improvement over last year at this time.
Anyone going to Astoria anytime soon? I have something I need picked up (some cables) I'm due for a NYC trip pretty soon so it would also be a huge favor to store them for a month.

$675 Queer-Friendly Housing in Davis Square (available April)
One room is open now, the other will be open June first. The heat and water are included in rent! One cat, tons of common space, 1-3/4 baths, a dining room, living room, and big kitchen.
We are looking for a poly/gay/bi/pagan/trans/etc-friendly, non-smoker who likes sharing a house with others. Crafty or geeky a plus. :)Sorry, no kids or dogs (one additional cat or "cage pets" negotiable though). We like to be friendly with our roommates and like occasional shared meals (omnivorous), movie nights, and hanging out, but you don't have to if that's not your thing. :) We also host parties of various sizes.
Please send inquiries to jim AT acuriousproduction DOT com or reply here.
About us:
lady_anemone. I am a birth assistant and do energywork part-time. Home frequently. When I'm in, I tend to listen to music, cook, read, have sex, and play on the computer. Occasionally I have overnight guests.
mrpet. Software engineer, not too geeky but have been known to fix people's computers :) Spends a fair amount of time around the house doing various creative type stuff, including: cooking, sewing, pattern drafting and some website design.
nessur Web engineer for a major video game company that produces popular music games. Eats well, doesn't drink or smoke, and studies Tibetan meditation and defense arts. Always on the go except when it's time to stop.
Note: Russen is moving out June first.
Pretzel. A playful goofball of a cat - fixed, adult, and indoor-only.
Two cats is the landlord's limit for the apartment,so if you have one cat and they get along with him, that is a possibility. On the other hand, if you are not a cat person, he doesn't ever need to be allowed in your room.
The house is clothing-optional for residents (clothes are on most of the time but sometimes it does get hot in the Summer :) and their partners (but we'll happily put our clothes on when your parents/new sweetie/coworkers are coming over ;).
mrpet and
lady_anemone are also partnered long-term.
What we're looking for in a housemate:
A friendly person, poly/gay/bi/pagan/trans/etc-friendly, non-smoker with no dogs or cats ("cage pets" negotiable) who likes to share a house with others, doesn't mind cleaning up after themselves (but doesn't mind some clutter either :).
Crafty and/or geeky a plus. Sorry, no kids or couples.
The House:
The apartment is on Orchard Street--5 minute walk to Davis Square Station (Red Line), 7 minute walk to Porter Square Station (also Red Line) Being so close to Davis and Porter we're just a few minutes from lots of restaurants, convenience stores, groceries, etc. etc. (it's Davis :).
We're also 30 seconds from Mass ave, which is the 77 bus, and Davis has lots of buses. Super public-transit accessible if you haven't been here before.
The apartment is the second and third floor of a two-family house. Amenities include a nice-sized kitchen with great counter space, living room, dining room, and additional common space areas (the common space acreage is very nice :), 1 & 3/4 baths, basement, partly-full garage (good for small storage), second floor enclosed porch (where the kitty litter resides), and washer & drier in laundry section in the basement (large basement). Plushy carpet in all rooms except for kitchen and 70s wallpaper in most of the common space (it's pretty muted). Usable driveway (i.e. you can park without blocking people in :) and plenty of on-street parking. Resident parking permits are one dollar (yeah, just $1) and temporary permits for friends are easy to get (including multiple permits, useful for move-ins, social gatherings, etc.)--a nice feature of Somerville.
The common areas are well furnished by the current housemates, but room can be made for new housemate stuff as well. A few notable common-area items are: lots of kitchen gear, gas stove, new dishwasher, new fridge, washer & dryer (free laundry), TV/VCR, new DVD player, and a DVR box (like TIVO).
One room is a good-sized one on the third floor with three windows and a huge walk-in closet that has a built in dresser. The walls are currently blue, and you can paint them any color but black (landlord's request) if you want to. Ceilings are slanted. This room is open now.
The second room has wood floors and a working kitchenette with stove, fridge, and sink. It has its own closet and wood panelling which you are welcome to paint if you wish. This room will be open June first.
The rent for the rooms (each) are $675 per month (total rent for the apartment
is $2600 that is split 4 ways, $675 for each for the three big bedrooms and $575 for the little one (already occupied)). ig plus:heating and hot water costs are included in the rent.
The only utilities we need to pay are electricity and phone/internet and they usually run around $70 per month. Cable internet is provided by Comcast. All of the bedrooms have wireless internet access as well as CAT5 cable access (i.e. normal internet cable) and the internet service is both high-speed and reliable. As mentioned, there is also a free washer & dryer in the basement.
There is a 1 year lease cycle. The landlords are a couple living in Boston and seem pretty nice, and are responsive. Fortunately, we've never needed to have too much contact with them though. ☺

The NEDSWB was back for the 8th year and I was picked to run sound and do the lights in addition to being one of the 4 DJs. This marked my second year with the event (last year I DJed) I didn't get any pictures, I was too busy setting up the lights for the vendors to break out my camera. Hopefully there will be a post soon with links to the pictures that were taken.
While a lot of events are held at bars this one has been at the local American Legion (in Arlington center). It looked like they just redid the dance floor (or it was in amazing shape from before) and like most VFW/AL halls the drinks were both strong and cheap. I could have done without the stairs during load in/out :)
I went with a red lighting theme for the event, mostly static Par cans pointed at all of the vendors around the room. Rosco released a really nice red gel in the last year's new colors. Next time I'm going to bring more light trees so I can do more direct light instead of doing a long throw (most of my Par's have wide dispersal bulbs in them right now) The vendors looked really good under the red light (normally there are CFL sconces above them but I turned off most of them to get things looking darker and spooky :)
PA setup was pretty standard, however this was the first time using my new X stand with my DJ mixer board. It seemed pretty stable and that's good since I often have to rely on flimsy tables to hold up the 100 lbs of equipment/flight case.
DJs Arcanus, LostBoy, and Vudu:DJ (as well as myself) all spun great sets. We started the night off with more Goth classics and ramped up the tempo throughout the night. We got on a lot of requests as well.

The wait is now over! The 2009 show was a huge success and we now have proof :) Pictures are posted at http://www.fetishfashionshow.com/al bum/album.cgi?album=pictures_2009
Over 600 people witnessed the largest and most exciting fetish fashion show in New England. Fetishfashionshow.com just had it's 100,000 page load over the weekend and we are expecting another banner year of new designer promotions.
Like a picture? Then rate it to move it higher up on the page. Want to know what pictures the show really likes? Then check out the best-in-show gallery.
Wondering where the video is? It is still in post production; we are in the process of finalizing a 2 minute promo edit and we will then move on to the DVD edit. Look for a teaser in a week.
Over the next few months we will be revamping parts of the website and streamlining model applications. Our first update of the year was to sort pictures by ratings and then by name. Now you can see popular pictures at the top of each gallery. You can also look forward to up to date model listings in the near future.

| ACuriousProduction.com steady growth through the last 6 months |
As ACP works on more and more projects around the area more and more people come to the website to find out what the buzz is about! The New Designers' Fetish Fashionshow and Avon Breast Cancer Fundraiser were outstanding successes and ACP wants to top them next year!
ACP is available to make your next event's art package. 4x6 club cards, web art, click banners, etc all tell your prospective patrons that they need to spend their time/money with you instead of the many other competing events. For not much more than photocopies I can provide you with full color two sided UV gloss coated cards that make a statement.
ACP is also available to run your sound and lights and if you need equipment we can bring it too! Venues up to 8000-10000 sqft can easily be supported with ACP's stock equipment, however for really loud events a 5000 sqft venue is perfect. Beyond what is in stock we can rent any additional equipment that is required.
Need help making sense of all of the tech requirements on your band riders? ACP can decode what is really needed and make your concert run much more smoothly on the day of. Sometimes a little direct communication with the bands is all that is needed to make things run very smooth on the big day.
| CuriousCouture Web Hits From FFF Exposure |
Looking over my web counters I noticed a huge spike in visitors to my sewing site. I only handed out around 300 postcards at the Flea, ordinarily only a small fraction of those get a web hit. Show exposure on the website and being in the program book really does bring people to your site. I have gotten three custom commissions since the show which is way more than normal for this season especially taking into account the economy.
Want this kind of exposure then start planning on entering the 2010 show! Even if you do not have a website or much of a business yet you can still be in the show. In fact that is why we created the show in the first place.

This year's show has generated quite the buzz. The following is the page load stats for the site minus any of the picture pages. This graph shows how many people come to the site and look around, one hit per page.

As you can see this year's show has had more hits than last year at this time and we have yet to do a press release for the picture release.
Looking at the hits on the pictures we can see a huge ramp up of hits which means that we have people chomping at the bit to see the pics of the show!

I expect to blow last year's numbers out of the water this time.
On a related note, we are the number one hit for Google when searching for Fetish Fashion Show and sixth for Fetish Fashion. Not a bad page rank! In order to get us to the top please link back to us with clickable links whenever possible.

I just posted the pics from the show that I ran lighting on last weekend. Finally got a tripod and got some really good pics!
This is only a test.... Nothing to see here...

I really like the swirl texture in the background. I'm not too wedded to purple but it does look pretty good on the screen. Maybe do it in red instead?
