new bcard design

I was up late last night putting together a bcard for curiouscouture.com

Here is the proof copy.

Now I just need to work on the site for Arisia and the Flea.

oh! Those corsets are beautiful. I am so impressed with your work. BTW, how did you learn how to make corsets? Are you self-taught? I've been making clothing for myself since I was a teenager, but one thing I never really learned is how to do alter a pattern properly or make a pattern from scratch. How did you learn that? I'm just curious because the whole process seems complicated to me :P

Anyways, I can't wait to see the Wonder Woman up close!

I deconstructed an actual corset to figure out how it was made. I have a lot of pattern making experience so it helped with the deconstruction. I read a lot of books from 1900-1950 or so when people had to sew. The books today are fancy but very little info.

I recommend "flat pattern methods" by Norma Hollen, there are usually early printings on ebay for under $20. It has lots of exercises modifing existing patterns, esp rotating darts.
