djpet card (draft)

Here is a draft card for djpet. I'm attempting to try and have my more sexy stuff go under the name djpet and the more industrial and hard stuff under DJ Finsternis.

I really like both this card and the DJ Finsternis cards - they are very memorable and visually exciting.

BTW, did you know that Thomas Dolby looks a wee bit like you? Went to his show last week and it was incredible (he was double-billing with BT), but I noticed a bit of very attractive resemblence :)

she blinded me with SCIENCE!

I really like both cards for different reasons.

BTW, there was a really funny monolog on NPR a few months ago about how Thomas Dolby made some kid cry, it was delivered very well. The speaker had him over for some interview thing and he heard some sounds on a video tape that the kid was playing and he just had to have the tape to rip the sound for his synth and who can say no to Thomas Dolby. After taking the kid's favorite movie for supposedly one night he skipped town never to be contacted again.

The background texture is very cool, with the purple!

Nitpicks about the design-- the way the D and J run together is a little weird (I keep wanting to read it as a monogram for DW, and you aren't deadwinter...) and I'm curious about the decision for where the capitals fall, though it's fine the way it is. And the other font seems weird to me-- looks like it's got two or three pixels taken off the top. If that's intentional, go for it, but be careful of the anti-aliasing on the phone number-- two of the 1's are sort of fading.

Other than that, nice-- I like the colors and composition a lot. ^_^

A lot of the aliasing problems and missing pixels are do to being shrunk down, both by a simple image resize in PS as well as the browser. I used negative kerning on the D & J to tighten it up. I may play with it more to keep it from looking like a W :)
