more DJ card designs

In an effort to harden up the DJ pet card so it looks more like I'm a stompy angry DJ I give you the following two similar designs:

I would still make the purple card since I tend to do both types of DJing. I'm still looking at the font that I used to spell out DJ pet. Gothic Blackletter could work but I haven't found anything yet that works well.

I like the one without the DJ pet text (2nd). It avoids the problem of busy-ness and hard to read text as well as highlighting the blood splatter.

The blood splatter is very, very cool. (Part of me wants to pick and say that blood is more opaque than that, but I like the grill texture too much.)

Fonts: have you looked at Dafont? Free fonts and a nice preview utility.

I have already pretty much raped and pillaged dafont at this point. The blood was actually a font that I layered a bunch of filters on. My main problem is with uppercase/lowercase interoperability. I haven't found one yet that just works. I may need to combine two.

I also know that blood is more opaque ;) but I wanted to bring the grill texture through and the quickest way was to make it slightly transparent.

The link banners are really working well with the getdjpet.com...for xxxxx yyyy ... It extends really well and I can mess with the colors on each banner to make them all have a different feel.

I've seen the blood font, yeah. And bringing up the grill texture any other way would probably end up being just really subtle and mostly invisible.

Dafont is just so ripe for raping and pillaging!

Hrm. You're giving me design itch in my fingers... but I have other things I'm supposed to do first.

The banners looked really neat. ^_^
