CuriousCouture Web Hits From FFF Exposure

Looking over my web counters I noticed a huge spike in visitors to my sewing site. I only handed out around 300 postcards at the Flea, ordinarily only a small fraction of those get a web hit. Show exposure on the website and being in the program book really does bring people to your site. I have gotten three custom commissions since the show which is way more than normal for this season especially taking into account the economy.

Want this kind of exposure then start planning on entering the 2010 show! Even if you do not have a website or much of a business yet you can still be in the show. In fact that is why we created the show in the first place.

This year's show has generated quite the buzz. The following is the page load stats for the site minus any of the picture pages. This graph shows how many people come to the site and look around, one hit per page.



As you can see this year's show has had more hits than last year at this time and we have yet to do a press release for the picture release.

Looking at the hits on the pictures we can see a huge ramp up of hits which means that we have people chomping at the bit to see the pics of the show!



I expect to blow last year's numbers out of the water this time.

On a related note, we are the number one hit for Google when searching for Fetish Fashion Show and sixth for Fetish Fashion. Not a bad page rank! In order to get us to the top please link back to us with clickable links whenever possible.

The HP class action lawsuit finally went through on my laptop. I am getting a new motherboard since HP had a really crappy heatsink design. Every part that got hot was located next to each other under an insufficient heat sink that was band-aided with two massive fans.

The graphics processor basically bakes and it eventually delaminated from the heat sink. I have had to de-clock slowly down to 30Mhz to keep it cool. Considering I have a 3GHz P4 this has meant my graphics has been teh suxxors for quite some time.

What this means to all of you is that I will not have a laptop for the next 5-7 days plus shipping both ways. I cannot do a lot of my nightly web work nor create new sets for my internet radio station. I will be checking in during the day and if there are emergencies I can try and cover them as I finally got SSH unblocked on my work firewall.

As soon as my laptop is back I will post an update of the blazing fast video performance :)

In addition to posting the pictures I have started a revamp of the website. It is still a little wonky under IE6 and earlier but the nav does work. I checked it out on Safari, Firefox, Seamonkey, and IE7. If you are running an older browser and it's messed up just let me know. There is a little CSS collision with the photo album and my menu styles (I already know about the text color issue on the footer text in the album pages, I also know about the bidy being a different width that the header/footer on some browsers as well)

I am looking for barkers that can drum up attendance for the New Designers' Fashion Show on the night of January 11. You would need to be located in the Biltmore and Westin lobbies with signs directing people to the 17th floor of the Biltmore for the 7-9pm show and 9-1am dance.

In other fashion news. The New Designers' Fashion Show is looking for more designers, acts, models, and event help. The show is really starting to take shape and I can't wait until January 11 in Providence RI. More than 4000 people are expected at the Winter Fetish Fair Fleamarket(tm) XXX This one is our 30th so it's going to be special! DJpet, Punketta Doilie, and VJ Proto, and many more guest DJs are going to bring you the music and visuals for this incredible event. The best part is that the whole night is free! Fashion show is from 7-9p and the music keeps going on until late.

Here is a pic of the hat that I decorated for the Summer Flea. Bowler was purchased from the New York Hat Co.

Band is tubular crin, the rest is a fabric flower, feathers, and lace. Sorry about the lack of detail, it was taken from my phone with no flash. You will just have to see it in person. The next time I'll be wearing it will be at Dark Odyssey.

TNG and NELA is having another Fashion show at the winter flea and this time we have the entire night! The goal is to be bigger and better than last year. I'm planning a dance as well as the fashion show in the ballroom of the Biltmore. Anyone want to help and hand out cards at the Summer Flea?

It's less that one week to the First Annual Young Designers' Fashion Show. Everyone is invited to come and check out some up and coming designers of scene clothing, toys, and jewelry. 7-9pm on Friday 1/26 at the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers MA. There will be complimentary food and a
cash bar!

DJpet will be spinning music to strut your stuff to through out the night. Wear something snazzy and you too can walk the runway!

Stick around afterwards to mingle with the well dressed while checking out the Art Show opening and playing 'Midnight Seduction'

Pretty much all of the models had big black eyes and a slightly strung out
on heroin look this year.

I want to do a zombie fashion runway set for the Fashion Show that TNG is
running. Anyone want to dress like zombies in evening dresses and feather
boas and shamble down the runway? Bonus points for dropped appeandages and screaming "BRAINS"

I don't have time to make anything but there is always the Garment District.

This is going to be a big comic act in the middle set to Michael Jackson's
Thriller.
