So I was listening to NPR this morning and a story about Freud and Bacon comes on*. Apparently Freud's nephew created the bacon and eggs breakfest as a way to sell more bacon from the Beechnut company. And here I only thought they made gum :) He pretty much created the concept of PR and questionable marketing. He sent out a survey to doctors with only one question "Do you support a hearty breakfest or a small one" When the docs said "hearty" he went out and did the 9 out of 10 doctors agree that bacon is the shiznit ad campaign and thus the bacon and eggs breakfest of champions was born.
